Last updated October 2026

This policy explains how BKWAI Labs Limited ("BKWAI", "we", "us") collects, uses and protects your personal data when you visit bkwai.com or get in touch with us, for example by requesting a demo. We are committed to handling your data in line with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. BKWAI Labs Limited is the data controller for the personal data described here.

Who we are

BKWAI Labs Limited is a geospatial analytics company based in Cambridge, United Kingdom, and a spinout of the University of Cambridge and the Centre for Smart Infrastructure & Construction (CSIC). You can reach us about any privacy matter at info@bkwai.com.

Information we collect

We collect:

  • Information you give us: when you submit the demo-request form or otherwise contact us, including your name, work email, company, asset type, and any details you share about what you are trying to decide. If you email or call us, we also keep that correspondence.
  • Information collected automatically: limited technical and usage data such as your IP address, browser and device characteristics, and how you interact with the site, gathered through cookies and similar technologies (see our cookie policy).

How we use your information

  • To respond to your enquiry and arrange and run a demonstration of the platform.
  • To provide, maintain and improve our website and services.
  • To send you relevant communications where you have asked us to or where we may do so lawfully.
  • To understand how the site is used through aggregated analytics.
  • To meet our legal and regulatory obligations.

Legal bases for processing

Depending on the activity, we rely on one or more of: your consent; our legitimate interests in responding to potential clients and improving our services; the performance of a contract; and compliance with a legal obligation. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.

Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with trusted service providers who process it on our behalf under appropriate data-processing terms: for example, website hosting and content delivery, and web analytics such as Google Analytics. We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect our legal rights.

International transfers

Some of our providers may process data outside the UK or EEA. Where that happens, we ensure an appropriate safeguard (such as UK adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses) is in place to protect your data.

Data retention

We keep your information only for as long as necessary for the purposes set out above, unless a longer period is required by law. In practice, we will not normally hold enquiry data for longer than two years.

Your rights

Subject to certain conditions, you have the right to access your personal data and to request its correction, erasure, or the restriction of its processing; to object to processing; to data portability; and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, contact info@bkwai.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised "last updated" date.
